The Point System
Tarneeb is a 4 player game consisting of two teams. Each team races to reach an agreed upon terminal game score to win the game. This is usually 21, 31 or 51. Teams at UltimateTarneeb are labeled as Red or Blue teams.
We have developed a system to reward members points based on several factors during the game. Member points are updated after successful completion of a game. Members of the winning team receive positive points and members of the winning team lose points. Members get 10 points automaticaly for winning, and up to 50 points depending on performance. The maximum you can lose is -20.
Points awarded or lost are based on the following:
The Game Scores at the End
Winners: the higher your ending score the more points you get
Losers: the higher your ending score the less points you lose.
The Score Difference between the Winning and the Losing Team
Winners: the larger difference in scores, the more points you get.
Losers: the larger difference in scores, the more points you lose.
The Number of Sets Played
Winners: the more sets played the more points you earn.
Losers: the more sets played, the less points you lose.
The Terminal Game Score
Games with higher Terminal Scores will generally get more points. For example, you will be rewarded more points for playing a game till 31 than a game till 21 because your ending scores will be higher and the number of sets played will be larger.
We use complex formulas to calculate the exact number of points you receive. These equations are based on 7th order models and statistics collected from over 15,000 games.
However, the general rule is that the more you defeat the opposing team, the more points you will win. If you are loosing, then don't give up, try to minimize your loses as much as possible to reduce what the other team gets and decrease your penalty!
